K1200S clutch problem.

Postby Frisky on Fri Aug 22, 2008 2:42 pm

I have an 08 K1200S which has just on 3000 miles on the clock.
It was a demo for the first 2300 miles.
When pulling away and feeding in the clutch the take off isn't smooth at all, a bit jerky if you know what I mean.
The salesman had noticed the problem when he rode it.
The bike is back with the dealer in a couple of weeks.
Has anyone else with a 12S had a similar problem?
I have read on line about the clutch actuating pin problem on some 12's, is this mod a possible solution to my problem?

I’m riding a 05 K1200S and I have always felt a pulsing through the clutch lever when letting it out.
This does not affect the smoothness of the bike when pulling away though.

PS
I'm still on the same clutch at 18,000 miles

Both of our '08 K12Ses do that. It's more of a judder and occurs now and again...sometimes quite noticeable. Doesn't keep me from going anywhere though.

I had a new clutch a year ago (when the bike was on 11K miles - it started slipping !) and the new one juddered slightly before it was broken in.
