Can anyone advise me where I can obtain performance chips for the K1200S in the future? :?:

You're kidding right? 170 hp, 180 mph, 11K RPM, is not going to be enough for you? If the answer is no, you are about a year away from any aftermarket chip for this new bike. S

Hey Che...

With the traffic congestion you enjoy in Sydney you should be asking for a Chip 'performance retardent'!

Mate you have to be kidding.........................!

Hi,

Actually I too would look for a "performance" chip once my K12S arrives. Its not the extra performance I'm looking for but better drivability. My KRS and several Ducatis were much more pleasurable to ride with the fuel mixture programmed for ultimate ratios with less regard to emissions, fuel economy etc. BMW's are notorius for lean surges and less than smooth when transitioning from low to mid to high range power delivery.
Cheers,
Doug

K1200S Performance Chips

Postby Che on Sun Aug 15, 2004 9:37 pm

Thanks to all you guys for the welcome to this site and for the info re the performance chips. I presently ride a ZX12R putting out 190bhp at the rear wheel so I just wanted to match that with the K1200s. I do a lot of track ride days and particularly at Eastern Creek the horses come in handy down the straight to fend off those Ducatis!!!!!

Now I understand!!......

Rhinewest make a very good chip for the RS and have a very informative web site. They have a testimonial from a rider in Canberra which is full of positives.

I contacted Power Chip in Melbourne re my RS and they said producing a one off tailor made chip was within their capacity...cost about $1000AUD.

Good luck with it..........

Cheers.
